The Hurricanes get absolutely slaughtered in a display that looked like they been out on the town during the day.
Interestingly the Highlanders get slaughtered 33-0 in their game when expected to be competitive.
Certainly was a strange week for results.

Barry,

I know you know you know your Rugby Union, your NZ Racing (and Aussie) as it is turning out, and nothing about wine, but please explain to me how I am a teensy bit ahead of you in the S14 Tipping Comp, which might I admit not last very long?

Are you not following your own tips?

Mr Mac I know you are an old school one eyed Cantabrian & west coaster (which is why I guess you are a St George supporter & Swans Man) but I thought you were the Math guru of this forum, redo you calc's Mr Mac I am by my figures $805 ahead of you.

What do you mean nothing about wine? you have spent far far to long supping those horrid vinegar Reds from Hunter Valley or maybe you have been drinking recycled Yarra river water marketed as Victoria Bitter.

Not my Maths that's the problem, it is those outstanding $1000 worth of bets of yours which caused the problem, as I was only looking at the balance. I forgot about the futures and your 2 both are in the top 4 at present. Good luck with them.

Point taken about Hunter wine. To be frank, I went on a tasting trip two or three years ago there, and my mouth ended up burning. How these pro tasters can do it beats me. The taste buds go numb! But, numb or not, I was very disappointed. They serve better beer in the Hunter Valley than they do wine. The pub in the middle of it all was full of beer drinkers, whereas the wineries were much more sparsely patronised.

VB has gone downhill. It used to be kosher in the literal sense, but whether it would still pass the Bondi test is debateable. It has been noted by many discerning beer drinkers that VB is not what it used to be. I used to work in Bondi, and a Jewish chap who worked with me put me on to what was kosher and what was not. I found some lovely wine as a result.

Chiefs V Crusaders Friday 12th Mar
The Chiefs has a backline that most international sides would love, last week they came unstuck arriving home & backing up again to quickly from the weeks in Africa & Perth. Nicely rested & I think we will see a different side this Friday, whilst in the Crusaders I can see still plenty of room for improvement & they would be on edge that this could easily be a game that could trip them up. This is potentially the Grand final rehearsal already.
Prediction: Chiefs by a couple
1 unit Chiefs h2h 2.35

Waratahs V Lions Friday 12 Mar

The poor Waratahs are being coached & captained by 2 of the most inept guys in the competition & tonight will see more of the same unless they free the shackles & start some running Rugby rather this constant kick for position at all costs. The Lions didn’t get thumped by the Brumbies last week but I think that is more of the Brumbies doing rather than the Lions standing their ground.
Prediction: Waratahs by 15
NO BET

Brumbies V Sharks Saturday 13 Mar
Brumbies were not that flash against opposition that is far weaker than the Sharks, I can see the Sharks lifting for this after being denied the win last week by a Ref’s failure to award a Penalty Try. I see the sharks being a huge chance in this & they are certainly a bet at the line.
Prediction: Brumbies by 2
2 Units Sharks line 10 1.93

Bulls V Highlanders Sunday 14 Mar
Highlanders got trounced last week 33-0, this week they get murdered. The line is far too small & there is slim prospects that they will even go close to covering this line with 4 key players out through injury or antics.
Prediction: Bulls by 30+
3 Units Bulls line -20 1.91

Stormers V Hurricanes Sunday Mar 14

Plenty of doubts in this match, Canes were simply horrible last week & Stormers were supreme running over the Highlanders. I expect the Canes to hit back this week & make this game very tight but home advantage might be just enough for the stormers.
Prediction: Stormers by a try
NO BET

Reds V Force Sunday Mar 14
Sunday night game in Bris first time this year the weeks games are not over before dawn breaks on Sunday in Aus.
The force have gone well in the past after a bye & I would expect this game to be no different as they will be eyeing this as winnable, however the Reds have won 2 games that no one thought they would & lost one game that they should have won to the Waratahs. 2 key players return this week to bolster them further.
I just don’t know here, so will let it go.
Prediction: Reds by 10
NO BET

Blues V Brumbies Friday 19 March
This looks an even encounter, with the troubles at the Blues this is certainly a game that the Brumbies will be eyeing as winnable away from home.
I have very limited confidence in the Blues & admittedly only slightly higher confidence in the Brumbies, we will keep this weekend to small bets as limited opportunities exist.
Prediction: Brumbies just.
1/2 unit Brumbies/Highlanders multi. 4.88

Bulls V Hurricanes Saturday 20 March (early)
The Bulls have been very good this year flying through sides & have had a soft draw. Believe it that the Canes with a few changes are a far better hope that the $6.50 & I think they are a realistic enough win hope, they know back home that the knives are out. The Bulls showed last week that at times although they can rack up the points they tired late & a better side like the Canes could have caught them.
Prediction: This is a real tight game to call.
½ unit h2h Canes $6.50
2 units line 13.5 1.91

Crusaders V Lions Saturday 20 March
Not a betting proposition for me.

Highlanders V Sharks Saturday 20 March
Already in our earlier multi & that’s enough here.

Force V Waratahs Saturday 20 March
Which Waratahs side will turn up, the superb running one from last week? Or the kick for field position one of the previous few weeks. The bet is really determined on that & should the former turn up they will run out decent winners. The Force are spoon material but I think they can keep this to about the line.
Prediction: Waratahs by 12
NO BET

Stormers V Cheetahs Sunday 21 March

The Stormers are in hot form & should run out nice winners here at home, the Cheetahs are just not up to them & the Stormers will want to continue there super winning ways, they are not the type of side to ease off when clear so we can bet them with some confidence here I feel.
Prediction: Stormers by14
2 units Stormers line -9.5

Despite the Brumbies game not quite going our way, it was easily the best game this year with some great skills on both sides & really was a joy to watch.

Brumbies V Chiefs Friday 26th
This game will be fairly tight & I am expecting a small victory to the Brumbies, only purely on the back of the Chiefs having a bye last week. If they turn up tonight they could run out winners, but we will go for a safer bet & plug for a fair few points to be scored tonight. The Chiefs have the backline to rack up big points & the Brumbies can match them. 60+ points to be scored in this game.

1 unit over 48.5 Various.
